Made it to Brooklyn

We packed up everything last Tuesday and began our trek up on Wednesday. We left early that morning. We traveled the outskirts of DC, and went through Baltimore and Philadelphia. We made a few wrong turns but we ended up staying the night in Staten Island. Thursday morning, we headed into Brooklyn. We picked up our keys and headed to our new apartment. We really like our new place. We're one block from anything we need and two blocks from the subway! We're really liking this community. We also made a trip to IKEA in Brooklyn. We really like that place too!

Friday night, the North American Mission Board hosted a NY/NJ Church Planter's Spouse Getaway. So, we headed to New Jersey around 3:00 on Friday. We hoped the R train to the World Trade Center Site and hoped on the Path Train to Jersey City. We had a great time there and got to meet some other church planters and hear from Vice President of NAMB, Aaron Coe. He really challenged us and encouraged us. Kristi and I enjoyed our time there.

Saturday, with Kristi's parents here, we ventured into the city and saw some sights. We went to Macy's, Times Square, Reece's, Hershey's, and Rockefeller Center. We had pizza from Nino's Pizza in Bay Ridge. That was probably the best pizza i've ever had.

Sunday, we experienced Cornerstone Church. This is the church we'll be working with. We were so excited to be there. (Kevin has been sick since we've been here) Nathan did a great job with the sermon and C.David knocked it out with worship. We're so excited about working with this church and seeing all that God will do in and through us in Bay Ridge. Well, thats enough for now. We're heading to a small group soon. Pictures will follow of our apartment and Bay Ridge.
